The novel coronavirus, or COVID-19, the pandemic has spread across 187 countries and territories. With the recent scenarios, the entire world has been quite shaken. Since the beginning of 2020, there is a kind of terror and threat not only in the minds of people but on the economy as well. The first lockdown in India began on 25th March 2020. Now with lockdown 3.0 till May 17, 2020, it has been predicted that the economy & growth of our country will take at least 11-15  years to come back to the track. Business is getting affected adversely in all the areas. All the sectors of the economy are affected. Money in circulation is reduced. Spending has been reached to a minimum. Lower middle class and lower-middle-class people are affected most. People who were daily wage earners are fighting even harder for their survival. Despite enough support from the government, so many untold stories are there which actually reveal how hard survival has become for many people. Many lives have been uprooted and many people have sacrificed their lives due to this pandemic. But, in comparison to the world’s statistics, India is still at a position where things can be controlled and managed. Winston Churchill said — “Never let a good crisis go to waste”. So here is the time when we can think of opportunities that can be generated to this adverse crisis situation. Obviously there cannot be simple answers to this question. But thinking out of the box during such hard tie will enable  Indian society to face the situation up to a manageable extent. Yes, with the help of digital transformation strategies, we can be the one who will turn the table around. Businesses across the world have been taking the support of  Digital Transformation since the time COVID 19 stepped in. The Indian economy has also started functioning on the same line even though with limited resources. Digital transformation has started filling gaps that have arisen due to sudden stoppage of business and economic activities that were otherwise going on smoothly. The use of combination of technology such as AI, Big Data, Cloud Computing are proving to be saviors of the discontinued economic operations. The use of online support systems, various digital applications, virtual classrooms in the case of the education industry which could not even be thought of in normal scenarios have now been used with great success. The use of many remote schooling platforms, such as Cisco Webex Education, Google Classroom, and Zoom has introduced a new development in the field of the education sector. This shift to work from home with the help of digital collaboration tools is likely to drive demand for High technology in many categories. A growing need for infrastructure to support this shift, like cloud computing for business or increased broadband consumption for consumers, will be a boon to the industry. So, despite being hard facts of negative impacts of COVID 19 it cannot be ignored that the crisis is providing a training base for companies to identify the parts of the business that can — and must — be digitalized. This will be a key requirement in order to become stronger for the future. Sustainability is, now more than ever, synonymous with business continuity and change.
