Introduction

  • Journalism

  • News Anchoring

This is a dynamic field within journalism. However, as a good news anchor, one should be well informed about the latest issues in and around the country. However, you need to have a strong communication and writing skills. In order to become a renowned news anchor, it is important to begin the career from entry level which includes on field reporting or a weekend anchoring. 

Some of the role include hosting News shows/ Talk Shows/ Interviews with experts. Sometimes one is required to report from the field during a major event.

  • Content Writers

Being a content writer one has to create content for various platforms such as print, electronic or digital media while focusing on subjects that fascinate the readers. Therefore, it is important that that the content be creative and informative. Some of the common formats include: Blogs, website content, social media posts etc.

Roles that one can choose are writing for websites, e newspapers, e magazines, blogs, copywriting for advertising agencies

One of the platforms where one can find suitable jobs are the  Media Agencies ; One also , however, has the option of becoming a freelancer.

  • Radio Jockey (RJ)

If you love to interact with people and have good voice modulation, then RJ is just the right career choice for you. However, for being an RJ, it is important that you have a good command of the language (English/ Hindi) along with good communication skills.

One can pick up any role beginning with hosting Interviews, live  or prerecorded shows. An RJ can also sometimes get involved in scripting and editing of scripts.

Radio Podcasting provides a good platform for a job like this.

  • Photography

If you are creative and have story telling skills through pictures, then photography is the idlest career path for you. The field requires not just creativity, but also technical knowledge of handling a professional DSLR camera.

Roles in this field include Photojournalism, Event photography, Commercial Photography, nature and Wildlife Photography

Like photography, videography involves capturing visual content. It involves producing films and documentaries, advertisements and social media content. To be a videographer, you must have a technical knowledge of the functioning of a video camera.

A career in advertising offers opportunities to work in creative and strategic role. To work in an advertising agency, one must be creative because an advertising agency is involved in designing campaigns for TV, print and digital media on behalf of their clients.

Roles and jobs include Copy Writing, Designing, Videography, Photography, Marketing, Graphic Designer, Media Planner, Market Research Analysis.

This is a career which involves managing and building reputation of the clients through effective communication. For this, one needs to have good communication as well as writing skills.
