INDIA INTERNET CONFERENCE 2017


FICCI and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India organized India Internet Conference on 5th & 6th April, 2017 at FICCI, New Delhi on the theme “Digital India 4 Sustainable Development”. JIMS Kalkaji was associated as an Academic Partner for this prestigious conference. The Inaugural session was moderated by Mr. Virat Bhatia, Chairman, ICT & Digital Economy Committee, FICCI, welcome address was given by Mr. Pankaj Patel, President, FICCI, address were given by Mr. Anant Goenka, Executive Director, The Express Group and Mr. Malcolm Johnson, Deputy Secretary General, International Telecommunication Union. Keynote address was given by Dr. Gulshan Rai, National Cyber security Coordinator, NSCS, Government of India and inaugural address was delivered by Shri P.P.Chaudhary, Union Mininster of State, Law and Justice, Electronics and IT, Government of India. The concluding remarks were given by Dr. A. Didar Singh, Secretary General, FICCI. A number of top corporate professionals from China Telecom, Facebook, Google India, Microsoft India, The Financial Express, Sharechat along with members from Ministry, Government of India and Parliament made the sessions quite interesting discussing on topics as Digital India 4 UN SDGs, A world of Internet beyond English and Digital India as a foundation for New India. Faculty members and students witnessed the conference and gained a lot about Internet and its relevance in Sustainable Development Goals.


 

XIIth International Conference on " Leveraging Big Data Analytics for Global Excellence"


Jagannath International Management School (JIMS), Kalkaji, New Delhi in partnership with the PHD Chamber and Konard Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), Germany organized its XIIth International Conference on 04th February 2017 on  "Leveraging Big Data Analytics for Global Excellence" . The Chief Guest on the occasion was Mr. Gopal Jiwarajka, President, PHD Chamber and Chairman & Managing Director, Salora International Ltd. Eminent personalities who addressed the gathering during the inaugural session included Dr. Amit Gupta, Chairman, JIMS, Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth, Director General, JIMS Kalkaji and Mr. C M Krishna, Hony. Advisor, PHD Chamber. All the guests were accorded a warm welcome by Dr. J. K. Batra, Director, JIMS, Kalkaji.
The Conference was designed to cover four technical sessions. The first session was a Panel Discussion, which focused on the theme “Deploying and Harnessing Big Data and Analytics for Business Excellence”. Mr. Vijay Rai, MD (Asia Pacific & EMEA Mkts) Saviour, US INC and President NHRDN, Delhi Chapter was the session chairperson. Panel members included experts from industry such as Mr. Shakun Khanna, Senior Director, Strategy and Transformation APAC HCM, Oracle India, Mr. Avadesh Dixit, Head Global HR, Moody’s Copal Amba and Mr. Narendra Dahiya, Head Sales, Microsoft. The second technical session was on “Driving Business Excellence in Healthcare, Retail, People and IT Analytics”. The session chairman was Mr. Pankaj Dubey, M.D & Country Head, Polaris India Pvt. Ltd. The panel members were Dr. Dinesh Jain, VP-Clinical Directorate, Max Healthcare Institute Ltd., Mr. Rajeev Gupta, Business Head-PCS, Reliance Retail Ltd., Mr. Apurva Chamaria, VP & Head-Corporate Marketing, HCL Technologies Ltd., Mr. Anuj Agarwal, Chairman, Centre for Research on Cyber Crime and Cyber Law and Ms. Ruchi Sharma Kapoor, Head-HR, Resemed India.
The third technical session was on “Leveraging Big Data for Building Prowess in Leadership, Performance and Talent Management”. The chairperson of the panel was was Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth, Director General, JIMS, Kalkaji. The panel members were Mr. Ignace Hindrick, Senior Consultant, India Consult, Mr. Jaap Verdonck, Professor, NNBS, Holland and Ron Mcluckie, Chairman & CEO, WIAL India Pvt. Ltd. The last technical session was “Research Paper Presentation” competition, which was conducted by Dr. Preeti Singh, Professor, JIMS, Kalkaji. Nineteen Research papers were presented on various conference sub-themes. The panel of judges were Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth, Director General, JIMS Kalkaji, Dr. Preeti Singh, Dr. Timira Shukla, HOD, PGDM (IB), JIMS, Kalkaji, New Delhi and Mr. C M Krishna, Hony. Advisor, PHD Chamber. The Best Research Paper which covered a cash prize of Rs. 10,000/- was won by Mr. Animesh Saxena, CEO, Apparel Export House and Professor, Faculty of Management Studies, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi (U.P) on the subject “India-Japan CEPA (Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement)-Suitable Strategy for Indian Apparel Exporters”. The second prize of Rs. 5,000/- was won by Dr. Namita Rajput, Associate Professor, Sri Aurobindo College, Delhi University on the subject “Inception of Green Banking in India: An Imperative Transformation”


 

National Seminar on " Leveraging People Analytics to Achieve HR Excellence"


JIMS organized on 17 th of September at Jagannath International Management School, New Delhi ,a seminar on "Leveraging People Analytics to Achieve HR Excellence" . The Seminar was inaugurated by Guest of Honour Dr.S.P.Verma , an Executive Director of ISTD and Ms. Anju Uppal, General Manager of AIMIL. It helped the participants to develop understanding of key aspects of People Analytics relating to Prespective and Predicitve Analytics as well as various HR Analytical Models and Frameworks.It further helped them to gain knowledge on how successful execution of People Analytical make a fundamental impact and help drive cultural change in the organization.


 

IT Seminar


JIMS organized on 16 th of October at Jagannath International Management School, New Delhi ,a seminar on "Cyber Security-Challenges And Opportunities" . The Seminar was inaugurated by Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker Mr. Sunil Gujral, President and CTO,Quatrro Global Services Pvt. Ltd.,in his address he focused on “Cyber Security-New Age Challenges” and how to secure our Mobile ,Computers and organization and data in the society. He explained all diversified aspects of Society.  The other speakers for the session were : Ms. Sharanbir Bal, Sr. Manager-ITS Government Solution, Ricoh India Ltd, on Cyber Safety, Mr. Aprajita Sen, Security Systems Auditor -DELL- on Information Risk Management, Mr. Vikas Jain, Founder Adhyan Innovative Learning-has discussed about True Hacking for Promising Career in Computer Security, Mr. Himanshu Singla,CEO , Online Trouble Shooters-talked about Cyberoism, Dr Anup Girdhar , CEO Sedulity spoken on Current Issues on Cyber Security, Mr. Rahul Goyal , Advisor Application Management DELL has spoken on challenges in Cyber Security. The Seminar concluded with the Valedictory Address by Mrs. Meenakshi Narula -Head Dept Of Information Technology ,JIMS Vasant Kunj..


 

7th International Conference on ‘The Changing Tapestry of HR in the Continuing Global Economic Crisis: Issues, Challenges and Strategies


The seminar was held on 17th February, 2012 at PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, New Delhi. The Conference was jointly sponsored by JIMS Kalkaji, PHD Chamber and KAS, Germany. After welcoming the Chief Guest Sh. T.K.A Nair, Advisor to Prime Minister and other dignitaries, Dr (Commander) Satish Seth, Director, JIMS Kalkaji introduced the theme of the Conference and briefly reviewed the global business environment including economic slow down in US and China, economic crisis in Europe originating from fiscal Indiscipline, and their combined adverse impact on Indian economy. He discussed the challenges posed by the recessionary trends and how these can be mitigated by enlightened HR managers through innovative interventions and application of best management practices.

 

Seminar on “Reinventing CRM Through Creative Use of Social Media”


JIMS Kalkaji organized a National Marketing Seminar on “Reinventing CRM Through Creative Use of Social Media” on 28th Jan, 2012. Dr. (Cdr.) Satish Seth, Director, JIMS Kalkaji, gave the welcome address and talked about the importance of Customer satisfaction as an integral part of company’s strategies for growth and success. The Chief guest at the Seminar was Mr.Dilip Raina, Sr. Vice President(Mktg.), Wires & Fabriks(SA)Ltd. The seminar was structured into threesessions. The first session was taken by Mr. Anurag Sharma, Sr. Marketing Manager, Rockport, Reebok India on the topic “Revolutionary Concept of Social Media”. The second session was taken by Mr. Kishore Chakraborty, Vice President, McCann Ericsson. on the topic “Integrating Social Media and CRM to achieve Excellence” and the final session was taken by Mr. Satish Sapru, General Manager, Times Group on “Benchmarking Best CRM-social media practices”.

 


Media, Public Accountability and Development


New Delhi, Nov 17: Jagannath International Management School ,Vasant Kunj organised a One Day Annual National Media Seminar on Media, Public Accountability and Development on November 22, 2011 at India International Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi The event started with a lamp lighting ceremony by the honourable chief guest SM Khan, Director General, Doordarshan, BV Rao, Editor, Governance Now, Dr. Ravi K Dhar, Director JIMS and Neeru Johri, HOD, Mass Communication, JIMS. The lamp lighting was followed by a motivating speech by Dr. Ravi K Dhar who highlighted the importance of possessing the right attitude for media students. The seminar was taken further by SM Khan, a 1982-batch IIS officer, who had a long innings with CBI as its spokesperson and Press Secretary to then President A P J Abdul Kalam. He said: 'The Press Council of India monitors the newspaper and there is a need of a similar body for the electronic media as well. The freedom of press is very important but on the same hand media needs to monitor itself.' The seminar was taken to even higher altitude by the interesting presentation of BV Rao who gave the latest definition of news. According to his presentation: " When a man bites a dog and when the dog dies of rabbies, then it becomes news." Eminent journalist Pankaj Pachauri, active member of team Anna Committe, also made a brief presence and motivated students through insightful questions on corruption.
